One day while watching The Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels shared a yummy healthy recipe.
Now, normally I don't make (much less even remember to make) recipes I've seen on TV, but this one looked so easy and yummy.
Cinnamon Apples:
Start with an Apple. (I LOVE Gala ones).
Slice said apple.
If you don't have an apple slicer/corer, go buy one. They are so worth the money.
Throw the core away, put the apple in a bowl, and add some water (about 1/4 Cup or so).
Next step not pictured: put the bowl of apple slices in the microwave, COVER, and cook for 2 minutes. Now carefully pour all the water out. You can leave the apple in the bowl or put it on a plate.
Once you've drained the water, sprinkle cinnamon all over the apple. NOTE: Use straight cinnamon. You do not need a cinnamon/sugar mixture for this.
Now enjoy eating them (careful, they are H-O-T).
They taste like apple pie without the crust.
They are so delish. Even my kids like them.
Have a healthy week!
MMMMMM! Thanks for this!
ReplyDeletethat sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteoooH now I can make something for the kids that I can eat and they can enjoy!!! Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteokay Allison those look great! I'll be running out for apples now!
ReplyDeletewe would do a whole baked apple for bruised apples we couldn't serve on the line (when i was working at school lunch program). i do the same at home. sometimes i mass them up for apple sauce.super easiest treat! they really do taste like apple pie without the crust :P
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Will definitely be trying these! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh, this looks yummy! Will definitely be trying this one - thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo yummy! I think they taste just as good as an apple pie.
ReplyDeleteLittle tip for any reader: put the cinnamon BEFORE putting the apple into the microwave, because then, with the juice the apple gives, it will give you a kind of cinnamon syrup that's to die for!
ReplyDeleteDelicious!! Just made this... so good
ReplyDeleteI added the cinnamon before and it was great idea. A tad of cool whip was a great way to add that extra "something" :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the yummy recipe!
ReplyDeleteawesome idea!! I'm going to share on my blog and link back to your page if that's ok!
