Got a sweet tooth, but want something fairly guilt free?
How about a chewy, fudgy brownie made without oil or eggs?
I've been hearing about black bean brownies and gave them a try this last week.
I was pleasantly surprised with how they turned out!
It doesn't get much easier than this recipe, you just need two things:
A 20 oz box of brownie mix and a 15 oz can of black beans.
Put your dry brownie mix in a bowl.
Rinse your beans, put them back in the can and fill with water (ok, that makes 3 things you need) just enough to cover the beans.
Pop beans and water in a food processor or blender and puree.
Add to brownie mix, blend and bake according to brownie mix package instructions.
..And without eggs or oil, you get some pretty dang good brownies that are sure to fool your family and friends. You can't taste the beans at all, just chocolaty goodness.
Let's compare regular brownies to black bean brownies:
1 Brownie= 1/20 mix
Original Brownie: 170 calories
Black Bean Brownie: 130 calories!
Not only do you save 40 calories, you also save nearly 6 g of fat and add over a 1g of protein per brownie!
Have you ever tried black bean brownies? If not, these are worth a try!
